- Abstract
- The present Ecomuseum is being operated with the function and concept of a museum. However, the function of the further Ecomuseum will be expanded into the one as an integrated museum of eco-education that can afford a communication channel in the interrelations between a local community, culture, residents and viewers. Accordingly, there is a need for a change of programs, space composition system, and underlying consciousness of society base.
Accordingly, this study aims to suggest the district-based direction of an Ecomuseum by analyzing the programs of Ecomuseums at home and abroad, their space composition system, district eco-environment &cultural and social properties and domestic & foreign cases polysynthetically in an effort to make feasible the integrated programs and composition system of space in consideration of the eco-characteristics, culture, and viewers, etc. of a district which will have the further opening of the Eco-museum according to the function and social consciousness of an Eco-museum, and also suggest the data drawn from the research into effective educational programs and space composition system.
