Abstract
Bluish green-emitting Eu2+-doped barium silicate (Ba 2Si3O8:Eu2+) phosphor was synthesized via a solid-state reaction. Ba2Si3O 8:Eu2+ phosphor could be excited under near-UV wavelengths and exhibited a broad Eu2+ emission band. Phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) were fabricated by combining Ba 2Si3O8:Eu2+ phosphor with a near-UV (400 nm) LED. To fabricate white LEDs with a high color rendering index (CRI), a highly efficient orange-emitting ZnCdSe/ZnSe core/shell quantum dot (QD) was incorporated into the above Ba2Si3O8:Eu 2+ phosphor-based pc-LED and their electroluminescent (EL) properties are described.
