Abstract
The current study examined students’ perceptions for the college level-based English reading course. Participants were 267 undergraduates enrolled at a single university in South Korea, who were taking an English reading course in the Spring semester of 2011. Written questionnaires in the form of surveys and E-mails were employed to investigate the perceptions of the participants in terms of their attitudes for class level assignment, classroom atmosphere, motivation, overall satisfaction, etc. The findings showed that the students of the low-level and mid-level classes were mostly satisfied with the class assignment, while the students of the advanced-level class were not. There are some variables that can explain the results, such as the grading system, classroom management, textbook. Based on the findings of this study, we can draw implications for further research and implementation.
