Based on the ecological reasons, the performance of the Korean literature that claims to support the construction of the new ecological society can be discussed in depth by targeting works of later 70s and 80s. However, this study tried to figure the ecological recognition of the Korean literature in 30s as retroacting such periods. Even though the period is when ecological recognitions or ecological discourses in genuine means may not be developed, humans cannot avoid having an organic relationship with the nature in an attribute of the literature. Moreover, in such relationship, it is too natural to include values and topics that ecological literatures are claiming to support. Because of these reasons, the writer chose short novels of LEE Hyoseok, San, Deul , and Seonghwangdang of JEONG Biseok which were published in 1930s. Moreover, the study tried to figure the directions of the ecological discourses included in these novels, and what specialties made them to be included in the range of the ecological literature. LEE Hyoseok and JEONG Biseok wanted to recover the irrationality and abnormality of human lives through the life characteristics of the nature. It can assume the start of the ecological reasons from the recognition that nature is the place to heal the wounds got from humans. Besides, their novels are ecological in the point where presenting healthy sexual images to recover primitive vitality and to open the possibility or redemption. This is because the harmonized sex of human and nature, and sex that meets natural quality pursue life than death and recovery than severance as it recovers human lives together with reacting as a new redemption. Therefore, even the ecological discourses of the Korean novels do not directly mention environmental issues, however, its qualitative performance can be evaluated whether it includes vitality, which is the quality of the nature, and the possibility of redemption. With these reasons, the novels of Lee Hyoseok and JEONG Biseok in the 30s are possible to have ecological discourses.-
