영화 《붉은 돼지紅の豚》의 제작과정과 초기 구상의 변화에 대한 고찰

Abstract

A study on the production process and changes in the initial concept of the movie 《Porco Rosso》 This study examines the changes in the production process and concept, starting with director Hayao Miyazaki's military taste and ending with the original cartoon 「The Age of the Flying Boat」 in the movie 《Porco Rosso》. The results are summarized as follows. First, a one-page illustration drawn by Miyazaki in 1982 can be said to be the source of the movie 《Porco Rosso》. It has all the main characters of the villain, girl, and hero and can be found the similarity of the description of the flying object and the person. Second, 「The sortie of multi-turret tank」 can be said to be the first example of Miyazaki's version of the 「Beauty and the Beast」, in which a pig-headed villain rides a tank and courts a beautiful girl. Third, a 45-minute original video 《Charge! Iron pork》 reminds us of the movie 《Porco Rosso》 in terms of the following three settings. It omits the motif of 'rescue by a boy', contains the content that a 'somewhat cool' pig successfully courts a girl, and shows the setting of "a single man who quit the military". Fourthly, in the first episode of the cartoon 「The Age of the Flying Boat」, the main character was reborn as a new hero and became closer to the original 「Beauty and the Beast」. Miyazaki planned a 15-minute 'private video' based on the above cartoon, but the plan was changed due to production cost issues. Lastly, it is about the second and the final episodes of 「The Age of the Flying Boat」 which was planned as a 45-minute in-flight video and completed in a very short time. These two episodes served as presentations and storyboards of 《Porco Rosso》, Without the director's expert knowledge of airplanes and history, he would not have been able to create these two episodes adequately in such a short time.
