갈등 프레임이 원전 수용성에 미치는 영향의 탐색적 분석: PLS 구조방정식모형의 활용

Abstract

최근 갈등 프레임을 적용한 갈등 당사자의 인식 분석 연구가 진행되고 있지만, 갈등 프레임을 구성하는 하부 프레임들의 구조와 각 하부 프레임에 대한 조작화는 아직 연구 초기 단계를 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 원전 지역 주민들의 갈등 프레임의 구조를 분석하고, 하부 프레임들이 원전 수용성에 미치는 영향을 탐색적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 선행연구와 원전 지역 주민들에 대한 심층 인터뷰를 토대로 갈등 프레임들 간의 관계구조를 파악하였다. 이를 토대로 개발된 이론모형을 검증하기 위해 설문조사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 분석하는 방법론적 다각화를 시도하였다. 특히, 설문조사 결과의 분석과정에서 PLS 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 갈등의 하부 프레임들과 원전 수용성간의 관계를 설명하는 이론 모형을 탐색적으로 개발하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 행정학 분야에서 PLS 구조방정식모형을 통한 탐색적 이론 모형 개발을 시도한 최초의 연구로서 방법론적 가치를 지닌다. 또한 본 연구는 실증적 분석결과를 토대로 갈등 프레임과 원전 수용성의 관계에 관한 이론적 토대 구축에 기여하고 있다.

Despite recent studies on the perceptions of conflicting parties, research on conflict frames with appropriate operationalization of each sub-frame is still in the early stages. This study attempted to analyze the structure of cognitive frames of the residents near nuclear power plants and further to examine the impacts of sub-frames on their acceptance of nuclear power plants. Through indepth-interviews with them, this study examined structural relationships among sub-frames in an exploratory way. Then, this study conducted survey and analyzed survey responses to validate the relationships using the PLS SEM. The results of this study would contribute to theoretical foundations of conflict frames. Moreover, it would make an important methodological contribution to research on conflict frames.
