Abstract

The domestic cooperative association tends to gradually increase due to the enactment of basic law on cooperative association and social necessity. However, its sustenance is doubtful owing to government support which is for quantitative growth only without ensuring qualitative growth. Thus, the development of diverse policies and relevant study are necessary for balanced activation of cooperative association. Especially, the study on business model for independent sustainability is important. This study is performed in the following procedure to grasp the business model of cooperative association suitable for domestic industrial environment based on service business. First, success and failure type of domestic cooperative association was investigated by collecting many papers & news and the cases's cause of cooperative association were analyzed in these literature. The literature was collected from materials registered on the online through RISS, KISS, Naver from January 2013 to August 2014. They were retrieved with key words such as ‘cooperative association’, ‘business’, ‘service’, ‘success’, ‘failure’, Interview with experts panel were utilized for qualitative analysis. According to the study, the service type shown in the study of domestic cooperative association is most prevalent in simple service jobs such as care, baby-sitting, cleaning, etc. The study on life cooperative association based on community such as medical life cooperative association & consumer life cooperative association was gradually increasing. Few as it is, the study on cooperative association related to culture art or environment, the alienated area of cooperative association is also increasing little by little. Suffering lack of ability to create profit or chronic financial burden, most of these cooperative associations are under inferior environment, e.g., lack of base in community, lack of experts in accounting․marketing. Thus, the government needs to cultivate manpower specialized in these cooperative associations through indirect support. Cooperative association needs to strive to overcome regional limit through solidarity & cooperation and to develop innovative product and service.
