- Abstract
- The purpose of this research is to verify the effects of career search activities using the Sport Job Interest Inventory for Student Athletes on the perceived career barriers among middle school student athletes. The subjects of this research were 55 middle school student athletes in soccer. To accomplish the purpose of the research, the subjects were divided into an experimental group (n=26) and a control group(n=29) by random sampling after the first career barrier test. After conducting a career education using the Sport Job Interest Inventory only for the experimental group, the second career barrier test data were collected. The results of the career barrier test were analyzed with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and dependent t-test using the SPSS 18.0 program. The mean perception level of the student athlete's career barrier was 4.31(SD=.38), indicating that the student athletes perceived minimal career barrier and the variance was quite small. The results of the paired t-test indicated that the effect of career education was not statistically significant.
