어린이의 안전 횡단 행동에 미치는 맞춤형 프롬프트의 효과 검증

Abstract

어린이 교통사고는 초등학교 저학년 어린이들이 횡단보도를 건너는 도중 가장 많이 발생하고 있다. 기존의 정책, 연구들이 외적인 환경 개선에 초점을 맞추고 있었다는 한계점을 보완하기 위해 본 연구는 어린이의 교통안전행동과 교통안전 정책의 주된 방법으로 사용되고 있는 교통 안내표지판의 사고예방 효과성에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 현재 횡단보도를 건너는 어린이의 안전/불안전 행동의 실태를 파악하는 것이다. 둘째, 어린이의 행동에 초점을 맞춘 안내 표지판 설치가 어린이 교통안전 행동을 증가시키는지 알아보는 것이다. 연구결과, 현재 어린이 안전행동 비율은 약 20%로 매우 저조하였으며 맞춤형 프롬프트 원리를 적용한 안전 표지판이 어린이 교통안전 행동을 효과적으로 증가시켰다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점, 제한점과 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 기술하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of prompts on safety behaviors of children at the crosswalk. Safe/unsafe behaviors of child pedestrians were observed at two different locations. The independent variable was prompts that consisted of three safety related pictures. An A-B-A-B and A-B multiple baseline design was adopted. The target behaviors included 'Standing right places at crosswalks', ' Looking around after changing sign', 'Holding up hand during crosswalks', 'Looking around while cross-walking', 'Not getting out of crosswalk'. The dependent variable was the rate of safe behaviors. The result indicated that the rate of safe behavior increased by 20%, which was statistically significant. The results suggest that more studies need to be conducted with different ages of children in a variety of settings.
