서울시 초·중·고교생의 진로성숙도 관련변인별 집단 비교

Abstract

본 연구는 서울교육종단연구에서 수집된 자료를 이용하여 서울시 초등학생, 중학생, 일반계 고등학생, 전문계 고등학생의 진로성숙도를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 학생의 성별에 따른 진로성숙도의 차이를 확인한 결과 성별에 따라 하위 요인에 차이가 있음이 나타났다. 자신의 선호에 대한 인지 이외의 문항들에서 모두 여학생이 남학생보다 높은 성숙도를 보였다. 또한 학생들의 성적은 진로성숙도와 정적 상관관계를 가지고 있으나 상관은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 부모의 학력과 가계소득에 따른 진로성숙도 차이를 확인한 결과, 부모의 학력집단별, 가계소득별로 학생의 진로성숙도에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 비추어 볼 때, 이후 진로지도에 있어 학생들의 성별과 준비 정도에 따른 진로지도가 필요하다는 것을 확인하였으며, 진로지도에 있어 부모의 역할이 중요함을 감안하여 자녀진로지도를 위한 차별화된 부모진로교육 서비스가 제공되어야 함을 시사하였다. 또한 추후 연구를 통해 더 신뢰도와 타당도가 높은 도구 활용을 통해 진로성숙과 관련된 학생개인, 가정배경 등을 포괄하여 관련 변인들의 관계를 연구할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to identify career maturity of elementary, middle, and high school students of Seoul city based on collected data from Seoul Education Longitudinal Study of 2010. Firstly, gender differences were identified in career maturity at every school level, and female students showed higher scores than male students in most items except ‘perception of one’s preference’. Secondly, students’ academic achievement and career maturity are positively related, but with low correlation. Thirdly, students’ career maturity showed significant differences between groups by parents’ level of education and income level, respectively. The results implied that career education and guidance should be provided in consideration of students’ gender and maturity level. According to influence of parents’ variables, customized career guidance service for parents is required for effective career education. Further studies using revised instruments that include more variables related to career maturity, such as students, variables and parents’ variables, were also suggested.
