- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to investigate changes of flexibility of the elderly women before and after their participation in the BAT program. The elderly usually means people in their 30th~60th, and those women demonstrate greater percentage of accident or injury caused by aging than others, so they must prevent from injury by means of continuous exercises. Therefore, the researcher selected 16 elderly women as experimental groups and executed the BAT program twice a week for 12 weeks. Then the researcher installed 3 digital cameras, one in the front side and two in the side and photographed 5 trunk flexion attitudes and 3 trunk extension attitudes before and after the experiment, and then measured attitudes of the testee using a dynamic image editor, Dartfish Team Pro Ver 4.09. In the preceding study, the researcher measured single attitude trunk flexion and trunk extension, but for valuation of certain effect of flexibility, the researcher investigated and verified trunk flexion and trunk extension from various attitudes, and then calculated the measured angle as score, and analyzed it using SPSS/PC+Win 15.0 statistical program and derived the following conclusion.
First, after participation in the BAT program, flexibility of trunk flexion attitude 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 became increased and demonstrated statistically meaningful result (p<.05).
Second, after participation in the BAT program, measured trunk extension attitude 1 and 2 among attitude 1, 2 and 3 demonstrated increase of flexibility and statistically meaningful result (p<.05). Although trunk extension attitude 3 demonstrated increase of flexibility numerically, the result was not statistically meaningful (p>.05).
On the basis of the above result, the researcher could confirm that the BAT program gives affirmative effect on flexibility increase.
