- Abstract
- Piezoelectric energy harvesters have been attracting much attention owing to their sustainable energy-acquiring merits and high reliability. Until now, many piezoelectric energy harvesters had been using lead-based ceramics having high piezoelectric and dielectric properties. Especially high values of piezoelectric charge and voltage coefficients are prerequisites for energy-harvesting applications. Single and double layered ceramic piezoelectric energy harvesters, with similar volumes, were compared and analyzed in this research. Higher output voltages were generated in the single layered structure than in the double layered structure. However, for multilayered structures with the same volume, the output current generation time was increased. It was also observed that the output voltage and current could be modulated for the devices purpose.
