지역 특성이 사교육 참여와 사교육비에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석

Abstract

본 논문은 지역 환경과 사교육비 지출의 연관성에 대한 실증적 연구를 통해, 사교육비 지출에 있어 지역 환경의 중요성을 검토하는 것을 목적으로하고 있다. 특히 본 논문은 교육에 관한 지역의경쟁적 특성이 사교육 참여 및 사교육비 지출액에미치는 영향력에 관심을 기울일 것이다. 이를 위해 이어지는 2장에서는 지역특성과 사교육비 지출에 대한 이론 및 선행연구 고찰을 하고, 3장에서는 지역 특성과 사교육비 지출에 대한 실증분석을수행하였으며, 마지막 4장에서는 실증분석을 토대로 한 결과 요약 및 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting ‘private education expenditure’ as well as ‘decision to participate private education’. The special attention has been given to the regional characteristics that strengthen competition in the educational environment. The main findings are that regional characteristics such as ‘whether one resides metropolitan regions’, ‘percentage of highly education people’, and ‘percentage of private academies’ have a very strong effects not only on the ‘decision to participate private education’, but also on the ‘private education expenditure’. Such results imply that a regionally differentiated approach concerning public education is needed to reduce reliance on private education market.
