대학강의의 질이 대학생의 학습성과에 미치는 영향 - 대학의 학생지원서비스의 조절효과를 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구는 대학강의의 질과 대학생의 학습성과, 대학의 학습지원서비스라는 세 변인의 수준 및 영향관계를 실증적으로 분석할 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한국교육개발원의 3주기 NASEL(2015년도)의 4년제 대학교 학생 13,415명의 자료를 활용하여 확인적 요인분석, 기술통계, t검정 및 일원분산분석, 조절효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 대학강의의 질은 대체적으로 명확한 강의 목표, 적절한 자료 및 평가에 힘입어 양호한 편이었으나 교수-학생 간 상호작용은 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학강의의 질, 학습성과, 학생지원서비스에 대한 학생들의 인식은 개인 특성(성별, 학년, 전공계열, 입학전형)이나 대학 특성(소재지, 규모)에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 대학의 학생지원서비스는 대학강의의 질이 학습성과에 미치는 영향을 조절하는 효과가 있었다. 이 연구는 대학생의 학습성과를 높이는 데 있어서 대학강의 질의 중요성과 함께 이 두 변인의 관계를 조절하는 요인으로서 대학의 학생지원서비스 중요성을 재확인했다는 데에서 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 연구결과를 토대로 대학생의 학습성과를 높이기 위해서 개인 요구에 맞는 지원서비스가 더욱 충실화될 필요가 있다는 내용을 골자로 한 제언을 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 한계를 극복하는 한편, 대학교육의 질 업그레이드에 기여할 수 있는 후속연구를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationships among lecture quality, learning outcomes, and student support services in Korean 4-your universities. Utilizing the data of 13,415 university students extracted from NASEL data set collected in 2015 by the KEDI, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, moderating effect analysis were performed. Based on data analyses and subsequent discussion, we have drawn the following conclusions and recommendations. First, the quality of lectures appears to be all right due to relatively clear lesson goals, appropriate teaching-learning materials, and reasonable student assessment methods. However, special attention needs to be given to professor-students interaction to raise its quantity and quality. Second, custom-tailored measures are necessary as the levels of lecture quality, learning outcomes, and student support services are different depending on students’ as well as universities’ backgrounds. Finally, this study revealed the moderating effect of student support services which adjusts the influence of lecture quality upon learning outcomes. This implies that students support services need to be strengthened to benefit all students. This study shed light on the importance of lecture quality and student support services as variables affecting student learning outcomes. Subsequent studies were suggested to upgrade university teaching and learning by overcoming the limitations of the study.
