Abstract
Authors' previous work had introduced a novel on-line partial discharge monitoring sensor CSC (Capacitive Slot Coupler), which frequency band was claimed to be between 100 kHz and 20 MHz. However, after intensive laboratory work and on-site experiment, it was found that frequency characteristic of CSC PD sensor could be widely extended from 100 kHz up to 250 MHz. Furthermore, from on-site experiment for small motor, it suggests that the novel CSC PD sensor could be adopted in effectively discriminating the various external noises and locating PD activity. In addition, it is confirmed that partial discharge signals detected by CSC is compatibly adapted to the commercial on-line PD monitoring systems.
