건화물 벌크 해운시장에서 용선업체 선정요인에 관한 연구

Abstract

해상운송은 인류가 활용한 가장 오래된 운송수단 중의 하나이며, 대량화물을 저렴하게 운송함으로써문명 발전에 크게 기여하여 왔다. 본 연구는 건화물 벌크 해운시장에서 용선업체의 선정요인을 규명함으로써 용선관련업체의 경쟁력 제고에 대한 시사점을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 계층분석기법(AHP: Analytic Hierarchy Process)을 활용하였다. 실증분석을 위해 선행연구, 면담, 예비조사(Pilot Test) 등을 통해 상위요인으로 5개 기업, 선박, 운영,서비스, 거래요인으로 설정하였고 각 상위요인당 하위요인으로 4개를 설정하였다. 유효한 80부의 설문지를 투입하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 용선업체의 선정에서는 용선업체 선정에 영향을 미치는 요인의 우선순위는 선박요인이 가장 중요하였으며, 다음은 기업, 운영, 관계,서비스 요인 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 하위요인을 대상으로 우선순위를 조사한 결과 선박의 가용성/적합성이 가장 중요한 요인이었으며 기업의 특성, 재무건전성, 기업의 평판 순으로 나타났다. 시사점으로는선주는 화주의 수요에 대응하여 보다 적합한 선박의 확보와 명성을 그리고 화주는 건전한 재무구조의유지가 경쟁력 있는 용선거래업체 확보에 중요한 과제가 될 것이다.

Maritime transportation is one of the oldest means of transportation utilized by mankind, and ithas significantly contributed to the advancement of civilization by efficiently transporting bulk cargoat a low cost. The study aim to identify the factors influencing the selection of shipping companies in the bulkshipping market and provide insights for improving the competitiveness of shipping-relatedcompanies. To achieve this goal, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed. For the empirical analysis, previous research, interviews, and a pilot test were conducted toidentify five top-level factors such as companies, vessels, operations, services, and transactionfactors. Each top-level factor has four sub-factors. The results of the analysis, based on 80 validquestionnaires, are as follows:Firstly, in the selection of shipping companies, the priority of factors influencing the choice ofshipping companies was as follows: vessel factors were the most important, followed by company,operations, relationship, and service factors. Secondly, when investigating the priority of sub-factors, the availability/appropriateness of vesselswas the most crucial factor, followed by company characteristics, financial soundness, and the company's reputation in order. The implications of these findings suggest that shipowners should focus on securing more suitable vessels and enhancing their reputation in response to shippers' demand. Shippers, on the other hand, should consider maintaining a healthy financial structure as a crucial task in securing competitive shipping service providers.
