프로스포츠 선수의 학교폭력 사건이 팀이미지에 미치는 영향: 위기 대응 전략과 팀충성도의 조절효과를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 프로스포츠 선수의 학교폭력 사건이 소속 구단의 팀이미지에 미치는 영향과 이러한 인과관계에서 구단의 위기 대응 전략과 스포츠팬의 팀충성도가 갖는 조절효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 2021년 10월 18일부터 3일간 남녀 프로배구 팬을 대상으로 온라인 서베이를 실시하여 총 849부의 유효 표본을 수집하였다. 본 연구의 가설을 검증하기 위해 SPSS 26.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 기술통계 분석, 상관관계 분석, 독립표본 t-test, 반복측정 분산분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 통해 도출된 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로스포츠 선수의 학교폭력 사건은 소속 구단의 팀이미지에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 프로스포츠 선수의 학교폭력 사건이 팀이미지에 미치는 부정적인 영향은 구단이 수용적 전략을 사용할 때보다 방어적 전략을 사용할 때 더 강한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 프로스포츠 선수의 학교폭력 사건이 팀이미지에 미치는 부정적인 영향과 구단의 위기 대응 전략 간의 관계에서 팀충성도의 조절효과는 유의하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 국내 프로스포츠 구단이 처한 환경에 효과적인 위기 대응 전략을 제시하였으며, 이는 구단이 위기 상황으로 인한 피해를 최소화하는데 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 프로스포츠 구단들은 높은 수준의 충성도를 가진 팬들조차도 선수들의 학교폭력과 관련된 부분을 상당히 부정적으로 인식한다는 것을 정확하게 인지할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of professional sports player’s school violence on the team image and the moderating effects of crisis response strategy and team loyalty in this causal relationship. To accomplish the purpose of this study, an online survey was conducted for male and female professional volleyball fans for 3 days from October 18, 2021. Total of 849 valid responses were collected. Using SPSS 26.0 program, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, independent sample t-test, repeated measure ANOVA were performed. The results of this study were as follow: First, it was found that the incident of school violence by professional sports player negatively influenced team image. Second, it was found that the negative effect of the incident of school violence by professional sports player on the team image was stronger when defensive strategy was employed than an accommodative strategy. Third, it was found that the moderating effect of team loyalty was not significant in the relationship between the negative effect of the incident of school violence by professional sports players on the team image and the team’s crisis response strategy. The study was able to provide strategic guideline for domestic professional sport teams when it pertains to school violence incident. Particularly teams need to understand the seriousness of the incident of school violence in that even fans with high level of loyalty can negatively respond to athletes’ involvement in school violence.
