세대 간 연대인식 제고를 위한 커뮤니케이션 방향성 모색:노인세대에 대한 고정관념과 정서, 도덕기반, 연령주의, 미디어 접촉 변인을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구에서는 BIAS Map(Behaviors from Intergroup Affect and Stereotypes Map)을 바탕으로 노인세대에 대한 고정관념과 정서, 한국적 도덕기반, 연령주의, 미디어 접촉 등의 변인을 활용해 세대연대 인식에 미치는 선행요인이 무엇인지를 밝혔다. 전국 만19세~59세 성인남녀 301명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시한 결과, 연령주의와 미디어 접촉은 노인세대에 대한 고정관념(유능함과 따뜻함)과 노인세대에 대한 정서적 반응(동정, 존경, 질투, 혐오)에 유의미한 영향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 노인세대에 대한 정서는 각 정서적 반응에 따라 세대갈등인식, 노인세대의 기여인식, 복지정책에 대한 인식 등을 포함한 세대연대 인식에 유의미한 영향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 상해반대, 차별반대, 그리고 혐오거부와 같은 도덕기반 변인들의 경우, 공히 세대연대 인식 변인의 노인세대의 기여인식 차원에 정적인 영향을 보였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 우리사회의 세대 간 갈등 해소에 작용할 수 있는 유효한 변인을 찾아내고 세대 간 연대의식을 제고하기 위한 소통의 방향성을 탐색했다.

Based on the BIAS Map (Behaviors from Intergroup Affect and Stereotypes Map), this study aimedto identify the antecedents of intergenerational solidarity by utilizing variables such as stereotypesand emotions toward the elderly, Korean moral foundations, ageism, and media exposure. An onlinesurvey was conducted with 301 adults aged 20 to 59 years, revealing that ageism and mediaexposure significantly influenced stereotypes (competence and warmth) and emotional responses(empathy, respect, envy, and disgust) toward the elderly. Emotional responses toward the elderlywere found to have significant effects on intergenerational solidarity, including perceptions ofintergenerational conflict, perception of the contributions of the elderly, and welfare policies for theelderly. Moral foundation variables such as injury prevention, opposition to discrimination, and rejectionof hatred had a significant influence on the perception of the contributions of the elderly. Basedon these results, practical suggestions for policy communications and public education were discussed.
