코로나19 상황에서의 SNS 이용 유형과 대인관계 만족: 심리적 거리감과 물리적 거리감의 매개효과를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 만18세 이상 성인 남녀 401명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 통해 코로나19 상황에서 SNS 이용 유형과 물리적, 심리적 거리감에 따른 대인관계 만족도의 관계를 사회적 자본의 관점에서 고찰하였다. SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 활용하여 다중회귀분석을 실시한 분석결과 첫째, SNS 이용 유형 중 정보추구와 상호작용 유형이 대인관계 만족도에 정(+)적 관계를 확인하였다. 둘째, SNS 이용 유형과 대인관계 만족도 간 관계에서 물리적 거리감과 심리적 거리감의 부분매개효과를 확인하였고 셋째, 물리적 거리감이 증가할수록 심리적 거리감도 증가하였음을 확인하였다. 이는 SNS를 통한 상호작용이 대인관계 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 불확실한 상황에서 SNS 이용이 심리적 안정을 유발, 온라인 대인관계를 통해 사회적 자본의 형성 및 유지, 보강으로 이어질 수 있다는 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

This study investigates the relationship between Social Network Service (SNS) usage types and interpersonal satisfaction within the framework of COVID-19, with emphasis on the mediating role played by physical and psychological distancing. It approaches the subject from the social capital perspective through an online survey involving 401 adult men and women aged 18 and older. The results of the multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 23.0 program showed that, first, information-seeking and interaction types of SNS use had a positive relationship with interpersonal satisfaction. Second, we confirmed the partial mediation effect of physical distance and psychological distance on the relationship between SNS usage type and interpersonal satisfaction, and third, we confirmed that as physical distance increased, psychological distance also increased. These findings suggest that interactions through SNS can positively influence interpersonal satisfaction and that SNS use in uncertain situations can lead to psychological security and the formation, maintenance, and enhancement of social capital through online interpersonal relationships.
