60-GHz band analog optical system-on-package transmitters for radio-over-fiber applications

Abstract

We developed two types of analog optical transmitters; a narrow band module and a system-on-package (SoP) module co-packaged with an RF amplifier and a band pass filter were integrated with an optical modulator. We characterized the analog performance of modules by intermodulation measurements with 60 GHz two-tone sources. Two types of modules had about the same spurious free dynamic range 90 dB Hz2/3 at the bias of maximum RF gain.
