Abstract
This paper presents the fault tolerant control algor ithm for EMB (Electro-M echanical Brake) equipped in In-wheel motor driven electric veh icle. In this study, the veh icle’s drive m otor is assumed to be used for regenerati ve braking. The fault tolerant control algorithm is developed to redistribute the EMB braking torque and the regenerative braking torque such that the vehicle can follow the driver ’s input in spite of EMB fault. The proposed algorithm was evaluated using MATLAB/Simulink and CarSim.
