한국응용언어학회 학회지 게재 논문(1983-2008)에나타난 연구 경향 분석

Abstract

This paper presents a qualitative research synthesis of the studies published in the official journal of the Applied Linguistics Association of Korea, the flagship journal in the field of applied linguistics in Korea, from 1983 to 2008, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of its foundation. A total number of 380 articles published during this period were classified and coded according to an analytic framework mainly in terms of (1) languages investigated, (2) objects of research, (3) research topics dealt with and (4) research methods employed. The analysis shows that there has been a change in both quantity and quality over the years, which is reflected in the trend observed in each of the four areas of analysis. The study suggests ways to strengthen the disciplinary identity of the field of applied linguistics in terms of what kinds of studies should be published in the future volumes of the journal.
