Abstract
This case study examines the effectiveness of e-learning curriculum for a college English course at Sookmyung Women's University. The 15-week online English course was designed for non-English major graduate students based on suggested CALL task design principles from the sociocognitive perspective: "content-based," "authentic task-based," and "learner-centered." Data was triangulated from many different sources: students' online participation rate, messages posted on the forum, two exams, and a student survey. The analysis of data supports that the CALL task-based online English curriculum positively influenced the graduate students' English learning. The results are explained both quantitatively (with descriptive statistics) and qualitatively (repeated themes) in three categories: 1) students' participation, 2) language proficiency, and 3)understanding of communicative functions in English.
